Terms of use — INR Notebook

Last updated: 13 October 2026

These terms apply to the INR Notebook app for Android. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it. "We" and "us" mean the developer of INR Notebook.

What INR Notebook is, and is not

INR Notebook is a personal record book for people taking warfarin. It keeps your INR results, the dose instructions your clinic gives you, the doses you take, your clinic visits and your reminders together.

It is not a medical device and it does not give medical advice. The app never calculates, suggests or changes a warfarin dose, and it never tells you what to do about a result. Where it shows a result against your target range, it is comparing numbers you entered; that is not a clinical judgement.

Information from hospital documents

The danger signs, the warfarin card notice and the vitamin K food list in the app are transcribed from hospital documents, and each screen says where its information came from. They are there for reference and may not match what your own clinic tells you. Your clinic's instructions come first.

Meal photos analysed by AI

If you set up an AI service with your own key, the app can send a meal photo to that service to name the foods and estimate their nutrients. Those names, amounts and nutrients are estimates made by that service. They can be wrong, they are not from your clinic, and they are not medical or dietary advice. Where a food is on your clinic's food list, the app shows the vitamin K level from the list instead of the AI's estimate. The same service can read the name and strength off a photo of a medicine's packet, to fill in your health diary; what it reads can be wrong, so check it against the packet before saving. The app says nothing about how a medicine mixes with warfarin. Your use of the AI service is between you and that service, under its terms, including any charges to your account.

Your records

How the app handles your information is described in the privacy policy.

Free trial and INR Notebook Premium

Everything in the app is included for the first three months, counted from the day you first use it. You do not need to give any payment details for the trial.

After the trial, these features need a subscription to INR Notebook Premium:

These stay free for everyone, whether or not you subscribe:

Price and billing. Premium costs KSh 200 a month in Kenya. In other countries, Google Play shows the price in your currency before you buy. You pay through your Google Play account, and the subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel. Subscribing during the free trial starts the payments straight away.

Cancelling. Cancel at any time in the Play Store, under Payments and subscriptions. Premium then stays until the end of the month you have paid for, and is not renewed. Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policies.

When Premium ends. If a subscription ends or a payment fails, Premium features stop until you subscribe again. Your records stay, you can still read and delete them, and everything that is always free keeps working. A reminder that needs Premium sends one last notice saying it has stopped, and so does the automatic daily backup. Without the daily backup, a backup is made only when you tap Back up now, so make one regularly.

Price changes. If the price changes, Google Play tells subscribers before a new price applies to them, as its rules require.

Using the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use INR Notebook for your own records, or for the records of someone you care for. You may not copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app, or try to get around the subscription. Downloads and purchases through Google Play are also covered by the Google Play Terms of Service.

No warranty

We work to keep INR Notebook accurate and reliable, but the app is provided "as is". We do not promise that it will be free of errors or always available, or that every reminder will arrive. To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties that are not written in these terms.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or harm that comes from using the app or relying on it, including decisions about medication or treatment, missed doses, tests or appointments, or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits any liability, or any right you have as a consumer, that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when features or prices change. The new version will be published at this address, and the date above will change. If you keep using the app after that, the updated terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
